Sunshine Coast train commuters will receive a timely reminder to prepare now for storm season when emergency services workers hit the streets on Friday, 9 November as part of the Weather the Storm campaign.
State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers and the NRMA Insurance team will be handing out first aid kits and emergency kit checklists at Landsborough Station on the Sunshine Coast to encourage residents to think about storm preparation.
Queensland Rail is supporting the annual SES-NRMA Insurance storm season campaign to ensure every Queenslander can weather the storm this summer by displaying important storm preparation messages on Brisbane’s train network.

WHEN: 6.30 am-8.30 am, Friday, 9 November 2012
WHO: State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers and the NRMA Insurance team
WHY: The best time to prepare for a storm is when you’re not in the middle of one. It is important for residents to prepare a personal evacuation kit and an emergency kit that includes enough water and non-perishable food to last a minimum of three days as well as essential medicine, clothing, batteries, torches and important documents.
