Live music rocked the Mooloolah Public Hall on Saturday 4th August 2012at the Mooloolah Performing Our Arts Off night.
Headline acts, Wilderness of Fury got the crowd dancing and John Arthur Gould gave all a good laugh. The open program filled quickly with lots of local talent from country music and poetry to rock and roots tunes.
Event organiser and performer from the Bamboo Rockets, Vern Gibson, said a great variety of performers came along to enjoy the night.
“This is a great way for the wonderful array of performers and musicians living in the hinterland to show off locally. We have people who work professionally as entertainers, plus others who have put that behind then and only play for the fun of it, as well as the up-and-comers testing out new material. It is a great opportunity to mentor new talent and even form new collaborations.
“Having performed thousands of gigs, this is one of my favourites.
“A big thanks goes to the Sunshine Coast Council for their support for the event. The volunteer organisers now have purchased some sound equipment which is available for hire at community rates,” Vern said.
The next event will be Saturday 3rd November. Like Mooloolah Performing Our Arts Off on facebook for updates and contacts.
