Friday nights are about to take off in a big way with the Twilight Markets in Caloundra kicking off on the 5 December from 4pm to 9pm when for eight consecutive Friday nights (finishing on 23 January) more than 100 stallholders will present a fantastic and fun range of street food, gourmet sweets, fashion and jewellery, home wares and lifestyle products, massage and more! Don’t miss the free and festive entertainment that is also part of this great event. Over the eight weeks a range of local, well-known and established performers will bring the street to life.
Come and enjoy local lads ‘Hoo8Hoo’ with their recently launched CD. Their bopping tunes and harmonies are a real crowd pleaser for all ages! Dave Stygall the crooner is back by popular demand, as is Elias with his Spanish guitar, and don’t forget solo pianist Richard Goldsworthy, who will perform on the boardwalk.
If world music is your thing Wallisuma De Los Andes will perform timeless music of the Andes with traditional instruments. Jahbutu described, as a Caribbean Afro Latin Spectacular will bring the party to the street – come prepared to dance!
Mettaphor will bring sass and style with saxophone driven guitar grooves over with funky chill beats. Zia will be singing up a storm with her souring melodies, husky vocals, and funk infused pop. Sunshine Coast favourites The Flumes are not to be missed with their electric harp pouring out psychedelic melodies over a styling rhythm section laced with soulful vocals, kicking out a lushly funky, dark and sparkling, intoxicating brew.
One-man-band Didjera will bring funk, beats and global influences.
This multi-instrumentalist is a whiz to watch and a joy to enjoy! And finally The Barelyshakes whose music is Irish at it’s core, will have your toes tapping, and your hips a’ swaying. Let’s not forget the range of colourful characters including the man in the big red suit (19 December only) will adorn the streets as the weeks tick by.
