There are some people in this world who are just so inspirational, that we just cant seem to do enough to honour and help them. Max Chapman is one such man, rescuing precious and proud horses from the “doggers” and spending all his pension money feeding and caring for them.
The ex-mountie and detective has just taken in another gentle spirit “Sargent” who is divine beyond words, in a physical and emotional sense – for a horse who has been treated so appallingly by the racing industry, with horrid scars on his beautiful body, he still trusts humans and loves cuddles.
With the nation excitedly preparing for the bloodfest that is Melbourne Cup and ignoring the slaughter of horses injured and can no longer race, we want to celebrate the goodness in people.
The upcoming event “Wild Horses Couldnt Drag Us Away – Help Max’s Rescues” is one where the region can help give back to the man who gives so much to animals and the Coast (see this link . We are seeking musicians to play on the day – any genre welcome.
The event is being held on a property in the Glasshouse Mtns. Max’s horses live in the paddock and guests will be able to touch and see first hand how these horses are so loved. Also on the property are another 4 horses who are rescues, cared for by various girls in the community. So much love and kindness. Local school kids will be baking and serving delicious vegan food on the day.
When: Sunday 11 November 11-4pm
Cost: $10 adults $5 children/students
Music: Please help us find some musicians who will entertain guests on the day and help us raise much needed money to pay for food, shelter and veterinary care for Max’s Horses.
