Learn to Knit using recycled plastic bags over the school holidays. Plastic bags are recognized as a major waste of plastic and threat to our environment. There are many ways we can reuse and recycle them. Knitting with the plastic is a creative way of using lots of bags with a fun and long-lasting result.
The CWA Beerwah is encouraging kids to come along to their free workshop to be held on Tuesday 30th 1pm to 3pm and Thursday 2nd October 1pm to 3pm. The first workshop will spend time learning the basic stitch of knitting. Participants are welcome to return on the second day, to see their knitting transformed into a ‘yarn bomb’ on a tree within the CWA grounds.”
Donations of colourful (non degradable if possible) plastic bags will be gratefully received. If anyone who has any could bring them along to our craft day scheduled for this Thursday, that will give us time to prepare them for the Workshop.
