Now in its third year, the dedicated group of charity workers are hoping to beat their record collection last year of 74 hampers to help Caloundra’s older community.
Donations of non-perishable items can be dropped off at several Caloundra locations, including Caloundra MP Mark McArdle, who has supported the appeal every year.
“This appeal targets those people who won’t raise their hand, but need a helping hand,” Mr McArdle said.
“We have very kind and generous people here in this region who pull together when charities need them and I urge everybody who can to donate.
“No donation is too small.”
Mary Bliss from St Vincent de Paul said they hope to raise more than 100 hampers this year.
“People really need it this year, there are a lot of people doing it tough,” Ms Bliss said.
The appeal is open until December 7.
