We have lived in Beerwah now for over two years and Telstra is unable to supply ports for ADSL internet. All of the residents in our street and surrounding streets are in the same predicament. Does anyone else in Beerwah have this problem??

Hello Danielle, you’re not alone. Telsta and Bigpond fairly are poor in this region. (A modern day story I guess) I think I waited an number of years before broadband arrived after moving here is 2003, and even then they installed it reluctantly, did a big survey and made it look like they were responding the outcry. You may wish to go to the Facebook Page http://facebook.com/Beerwah and ask the question there. We have about 500 Beerwah members who may be able to offer advice.

Are others still having problems with getting ADSL at Beerwah? Telstra is giving us an incredible run around. We’re on the Beerwah exchange near the edge of the exchange and actually had ADSL here from 2004 to 2010. Then moved away for 6 months and have not yet been able to get it back ever since. I keep getting told there are no ports, but wonder whether they have somehow removed the infrastructure that would reach us. Even though a technician has checked the line and, in theory, it is fine. There appears to be a RIM that serves a new development a few hundred metres closer to Beerwah township, but I can’t get any clear information from Telstra as to whether we are even on this RIM.
Would be very grateful to hear of any similar experiences, or of advice as to how to proceed.
