To the Kind Lady in Beerwah Woolworths

December 6, 2015 by Glasshouse Country Leave a Comment

To the kind lady in Beerwah Woolworths, I’m not even sure if the lady today will see this, but here goes: Thank you! I was in Woolies today in the express checkout with my 4-year-old daughter, when due to a banking error, a bill had come out twice from our account leaving us with not enough money to buy our things.

What we were buying wasn’t essential: just a few bits and pieces to make gingerbread men, a Christmas tradition in our household and something both my daughter and I look forward to doing every year.

The total value was not very much and as I was frantically calling my husband to transfer some money whilst simultaneously wrangling a wandering, noisy child, you graciously paid for our things and slipped away before I could even say “Thank you”.

The value of the groceries was insignificant but the value of your actions was worth so much more. If you do happen to read this, feel free to message me and I will gladly repay you and even shout you a cuppa if you’re interested.

Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Annika Hill
