Puzzle 06: Would you prefer Bunnings or Masters or Hungry Jacks or McDonalds?

March 26, 2016 by Glasshouse Country 15 Comments

Some time ago that McDonalds made an application to set up in Landsborough and at the time I thought this made a lot of sense from a business and location perspective because Landsborough serves most of the Maleny traffic and also collects passing traffic travelling along the Steve Irwin way.

You know what they say: The three most important things in real estate and Business are location, location, location. so it seemed perfectly natural at the time that McDonalds might have been attracted to Landsborough.Dicussion about Bunnings Masters Hungry Jacks McDonalds

Which would Beerwah Prefer

In a few weeks the new Roys Road connection will shorten the journey between Beerwah and the Bruce Highway and Caloundra and it may take as much as 10 to fifteen minutes off the travel time to Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and the Sunshine Coast Towns.

(editor note: I now use this road exclusively to get to Mooloolaba and Maroochydore, I can’t get a speeding ticket with the changing speed limits along Steve Irwin Road.)

The new Roys Road Connection ought to put the Town of Beerwah firmly back on the Map as a choice location for big business like Bunnings, Masters, Hungry Jacks or McDonalds because it will become the primary link to the coastal towns.

Who knows, it may only be a matter of time before we see one or more of the big 5 names roll into Beerwah.

What do you think, and which would you prefer?

None. Its nice that Beerwah is still unique and not just like the next suburb.

I think the new Caloundra west development on the highway will bring a lot of these big names down, might not come to Beerwah per say but will be only a 10min drive to that new development

After the development opens there will possibly be a low in our housing market but after the initial low we will be more on the map of affordable living and steadily build our market which will be great for long term residents

None!!!! For once it would be good to see an independent new – hardware/nursery/etc but not the same standard Woolies, Aldi, BWS big company take over a suburb that’s what’s wrong with Australia…. Why would you want to put in McDonalds or Hungry Jacks as if obesity isn’t already a problem & isn’t there enough food outlets & coffee shops there after the Simpson Street upgrade. Don’t turn Beerwah into another 2nd rate suburb there are plenty of them on the coast

Bunnings,KFC,McDonnalds. It would be good to have these so that we keep business in town. When we go out of town we always buy a lot more while we are out.

Considering masters is going broke, I’d rather have a Bunnings … Maccas and HJs are both only 10-15 mins away on the high way. Anything you put there will bring local jobs to local people so go for it!

I like the fact there’s no fastfood chains so neither KFC or McDonald’s. A bunnings would be good but not at the expense of local businesses.
