Any idea when the council is going to upgrade the intersection at Beerwah Primary school to cater for new residents of Coochin Twins estate? It’s already a nightmare on school days!

Renee Guthrie – thats a great question, It has been tabled a few times, but because it falls between two zones each “councillor” feels the problem belongs to another, – I think it’s actually Mark McArdle’s area. – and when people get interested in the topic about it its get moved to the Main Roads Department 🙂

I wrote about it here http://www.glasshousecountry.com/mark-mcardle-suggests-a-change-to-the-intersection-of-old-gympie-and-peachester-roads/

      and also here http://www.glasshousecountry.com/petition-launched-over-dangerous-beerwah-primary-school-intersection/

      and also here http://www.glasshousecountry.com/mp-mark-mcardle-calls-for-community-rallying-over-dangerous-beerwah-primary-school-intersection/

Recently I drove through Beerwah Town and videoed the lack of parking at about 10 am, i reckon in a year you wont be able to get parking.

I think so, I reckon that over the road at the start of Roys Rd near the traffic lights is a great location for Bunnings and Westfield. I imagine they will want to take pressure of the coast and move the action towards the hinterland and Glasshouse Country – Glasshouse Country Chamber of Commerce Inc. and Beerwah

As for light going on that crossing, I don’t think they will and the reason for that is due to the fact that it floods about 6 times a year

Will Beerwah ever get any decent well maintained bike/walking pathways? We live in such a beautiful area, a tourist spot but our pathways are either non existent and people are forced to go onto the roads or so neglected that they are gravelly or left so overgrown! The coast has so many beautiful pathways, that are well maintained , why can’t we? I actually think a good path could be built the entire length of Old Gympie Rd from Glass House to Landsborough!

The coast has so many beautiful pathways, that are well maintained , why can’t we? Michele Tipper you are so right, its not funny. We need safe pathways, – Just try get from Beerwah High to the Library.

As for a path joining Beerwah and Glasshouse, I feel thats a great idea. – does anyone else agree?

And one joining Beerwah to Peachester would be great! All the towns are so close to each other, it would be great to have them linked!

Question….why has council declared Old Gympie Rd as a designated cyclist training route? Surely there are safer zones for this activity where there isn’t winding corners and crests of hills. Trucks frequent this road to collect fruit from farms.
