Any idea when the council is going to upgrade the intersection at Beerwah Primary school to cater for new residents of Coochin Twins estate? It’s already a nightmare on school days!
Renee Guthrie – thats a great question, It has been tabled a few times, but because it falls between two zones each “councillor” feels the problem belongs to another, – I think it’s actually Mark McArdle’s area. – and when people get interested in the topic about it its get moved to the Main Roads Department 🙂
I wrote about it here http://www.glasshousecountry.com/mark-mcardle-suggests-a-change-to-the-intersection-of-old-gympie-and-peachester-roads/

Recently I drove through Beerwah Town and videoed the lack of parking at about 10 am, i reckon in a year you wont be able to get parking.
I think that they have started that all ready. I have seen a digger in there bush, and some tracks have made an apperance
Would beerwah ever get a Westfield showing centre
I think so, I reckon that over the road at the start of Roys Rd near the traffic lights is a great location for Bunnings and Westfield. I imagine they will want to take pressure of the coast and move the action towards the hinterland and Glasshouse Country – Glasshouse Country Chamber of Commerce Inc. and Beerwah
Shopping**
As for light going on that crossing, I don’t think they will and the reason for that is due to the fact that it floods about 6 times a year
This is on there website
Still on the Coochin Twins Estate, when can you see this Rd through the estate join up to Canarvon Dr and open for traffic ?
Will Beerwah ever get any decent well maintained bike/walking pathways? We live in such a beautiful area, a tourist spot but our pathways are either non existent and people are forced to go onto the roads or so neglected that they are gravelly or left so overgrown! The coast has so many beautiful pathways, that are well maintained , why can’t we? I actually think a good path could be built the entire length of Old Gympie Rd from Glass House to Landsborough!
The coast has so many beautiful pathways, that are well maintained , why can’t we? Michele Tipper you are so right, its not funny. We need safe pathways, – Just try get from Beerwah High to the Library.
As for a path joining Beerwah and Glasshouse, I feel thats a great idea. – does anyone else agree?
And one joining Beerwah to Peachester would be great! All the towns are so close to each other, it would be great to have them linked!
Thanks for you reply. I just hope it’s not a case of let’s wait until someone is badly injured or worse until someone takes accountability by upgrading infrastructure to meet growth and demand.
When is the new iga opening?
How’s it hanging? (You asked)
How many holes in a crumpet?
Is there going to be opened 24-7 in beerwah?
What other new shops are opening in the centre and in the main street does anyone know? Exciting times!
Steve Moon is opening a shop where video easy used to be.
It’s a Cafe and it’s already open 🙂
Saw a poster for Millers said coming soon!
I saw some signs in the windows of the new centre yesterday arvo…Mrs Browns Cafe, Riess Emporium, Millers fashion, The Coffee Club… and a fruit shop right next to IGA
Are you excited about the Beerwah Celebration street party? It’s on tomorrow, Friday 17th October from 4pm to 9pm. Official opening speeches will now be held from 4 till 4.30.
Devastated I can’t attend as I’m working!!! I hope everyone has a great time 🍍🍍🍍🍍
There’s a nail bar too I think 🙂
Question….why has council declared Old Gympie Rd as a designated cyclist training route? Surely there are safer zones for this activity where there isn’t winding corners and crests of hills. Trucks frequent this road to collect fruit from farms.
Steve yes I lnow his cafe top bloke makrs awesome coffee beerwah is going to love his cafe!!
Nail bar cool!!
Afraid not Wendy, but here are a number of very pleasant coffee shops along the high street, aka Simpson Street

Looking at buying in Beerwah.. coming from North Lakes which is just tooooo busy now… couple of forums have said negatives are mosquitos and the local schools.. .however the foruma were years old so would love some updated opinions 🙂 thankyou so much.
Beerwah is an amazing Town, and it is growing rapidly, we have 3 large schools and a number of kindergarten places. It is readily accessible from Brisbane and the Coast. There are a number of pleasant estates available
Margarita Priori-Smith. She is a local and wonderful celebrant 🙂
