The Strangest Dreamers

The Strangest Dreamers

The Strangest Dreamers

Formed late last year (2011) on the Sunshine Coast, the Strangest Dreamers debuted at the Woodford Folk Festival with their EP Sleepwalking in Dec 2011.

Then they travelled to Wollongong in January 2012 for the Illawarra Folk Festival, where they presented not only their own original material but an all-new Leadbelly tribute event, Black Betty rides the Midnight Special, performed to an appreciative packed house on the festival’s last day.

After a line-up change, in which amicably departed violinist Dan Kerin was replaced by, virtuoso harmonica player ‘Woody’ Brent Woodman, the

Strangest Dreamers brought the Leadbelly show back to Woodford in the middle of this year at Woodford’s The Planting 2012 when The Strangest Dreamers performed to weary volunteers returned from a day’s fieldwork.

More recently, the ‘Dreamers’ contributed their own blend of folk-blues to the mix in the Noosa Jazz Festival’s Noosa North Shore Fringe, unveiling a string of toe-tapping new tunes.

The new material, currently being refined, under the keen eye of producer Aaron Giffin of Sleepwalk Studio in Coolum, will feature in their up-coming new CD “Written in the Sand“, sometime later this year.

Mix some blues, jazz, funk, country, gospel, folk and a little bit of rock and roll, shake well, and you might get something close to the familiar, yet uniquely authentic sound that is The Strangest Dreamers. They are available for music events, parties or private functions.

We would like to extend a personal invitation to you to check out the The Strangest Dreamers’ Sleepwalking EP, recorded and produced in Coolum on the Sunshine Coast, at Sleepwalk Studio by local musician and recording engineer, Aaron Giffin.

If you believe in supporting local home-grown talent, enjoy foot-tapping, folksy country-blues, earthy vocal harmony and the good-time feeling that comes from good friends in tune with their music, check out ‘the Dreamers’ or book them for your function or event.

Keep it live, keep it real!

I’ve been looking for a band to play at our first ever fair and I think my search just ended. I’m going to contact the Strangest Dreamers and ask them for couple of sample songs and see if it’ll match with what we’re doing at the fair. The foot-tapping, folksy country-blues, earthy vocal harmony is exactly what we’re looking for, so I think I might have found the winner right here. Thanks for the info glasshousecountry.
